  11. The cheapest way to great software titles

  13. Shareware is an great way of circulating software to
  14. potential purchasers. It's an honor system that depends on
  15. your sense of integrity.

  17. Shareware developers use CD-ROMs such as MacHome’s to allow
  18. you to try their products. You get to try out each program
  19. on your own Mac so that you can determine if you want to
  20. continue using it.

  22. If you do decide to keep a shareware program and get some
  23. real use out of it, then it's up to you to register with
  24. the original distributor. This usually involves printing
  25. out a form that came with the program and remitting a
  26. modest fee; by cutting out the middle-men, prices are kept
  27. affordable.

  29. BUT: It only works if you play your part. If you do like a
  30. program and decide to keep it, then register and pay the
  31. fee. Your support is vital: If you like a product, your
  32. registration fee will enable the designer not only to keep
  33. on updating it and make it better, but also to create other
  34. great, cheap software. You win all the way!
